Michael Wilding
Michael Wilding has been a milkman, a publisher, a Cosmopolitan bachelor of the month, a fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, an apple-picker, a newspaper columnist and a professor of English – ‘the story of a maverick,’ says the Dictionary of Literary Biography. He is the author of Marcus Clarke in the Australian Writers & Their Work series (Oxford University Press, 1977), editor of Marcus Clarke in the Portable Australian Authors series (University of Queensland Press, 1976) and co-editor of Cyril Hopkins’ Marcus Clarke (Australian Scholarly Publishing, 2009). His recent fiction includes Academia Nuts (Wild & Woolley), Wild Amazement and National Treasure (Central Queensland University Press), Superfluous Men (Arcadia,) and The Prisoner of Mount Warning (Press On).
